Fitness Assessment & Re-Assessments
The fitness assessment is the intial evaluation of your fitness level. In order to design a safe and appropriate exercise program, we need to know where to start. We measure your blood pressure, heart rate, body composition, flexibility, strength, and aerobic capacity. The Fitness Assessment is is also crucial in determining your goals and making sure that those goals are specific and measureable. The results of the fitness assessment will be compared to a re-assessment at a later date to determine the degree of success of your training program. The fitness assessment is required in order to begin one-on-one personal training with APEX. The only way to know if you've reached your goals is to know where you started.

Body Composition Testing
How many pounds of body fat have you lost? Your scale can't tell you, but our BIA 410 can! We can measure water, muscle, and fat to determine exactly where your weight loss is coming from. This is especially important when you start a resistance training program and begin to gain muscle...this is a good thing - especially for women! We've had clients gain as much as eight pounds when starting a resistance training program, simply from putting on muscle. Since muscle weighs more than fat, your weight will often go up a bit before going down when starting a resistance training program. Measuring body composition helps to avoid frustration and can encourage you to continue.

One-on-One Personal Training Sessions
Individualized fitness instruction including any combination of resistance training, cardiovascular training, and stretching for flexibility. Train at our downtown studio or in your own home/office. No equipment necessary for in-home or in-office sessions.

Monthly Endurance Training Plans
Whether you're training for your first 5k or you're training for your first Iron Man, we can design a detailed day-to-day cardio plan for you to follow during the months leading up to your event. To get the most out of your training, take advantage of our partnership with the Billings Clinic Sport Specific Training Centerand get a direct VO2 and lactate analysis done. We will use this information to develop a highly customized endurance training plan based on your current training profile. Add a monthly resistance training plan for a well rounded endurance training program that will help to minimize injuries. Meet with us one-on-one for an in-depth progress check where we will address nutritional issues, training questions, and more...

Program Design Package
General Health, Rehabilitation, and Weight Loss
The 12-Week Program Design Package includes the initial fitness assesssment, an individualized program design, 4 one-hour one-on-one personal training sessions, 2 nutritional consultations, and a re-assessment. This package is meant for people with their own "intrinsic" motivation for exercise. We give you a detailed, day-by-day program design that will tell you exactly what you should be doing every day of the week for 12 weeks. All you have to do is follow the plan, work hard, and you will see results. At the end of 12 weeks we will do a re-assessment to see if you reached your goals.

One-on-One Nutritional Consultations
During your consultation we will discuss food choices, label reading, food preparation, meal planning, and any other nutritional topics that may need attention. We ask that you complete a 7-day dietary record prior to your first consultation.

Meal & Menu Planning
For those of you who just want someone to tell you exaclty what to eat and when. We can develop a healthy, balanced, meal plan based on your likes/dislikes to help you on your way to a healthier lifestyle.
One week meal-plan - $200

Grocery Shopping
It may sound a bit odd to hire someone to go grocery shopping with you, but one of the most difficult things about changing nutritional habits is figuring out what you should buy when you go grocery shopping. Let us take you on a tour of your grocery store...we'll show you those "danger" areas to stay away from. We will help you to make decisions on what to buy based on reading labels, not on "impulses". We may also take you to a "natural" food store or a "health" food store so that you may see that they are not so scary after all. At the end of it all, your cupboards will be full of healthy food, so that no matter what you choose to cook, it will be a healthy choice.
